Born on Wednesday night: the eighth birth day, for people who go their own way

What people born on Wednesday night are like

In Thai astrology a Wednesday birth after dusk counts as a day of its own, so a seven-day week has eight birth days. Wednesday night's people are often described as independent and unconventional. They're deep thinkers who follow their curiosity down side streets and don't mind being the odd one out.

They can keep their cards close, and people around them sometimes read their need for freedom as distance. These are tendencies. You can be your own person and still let people in.

The colour of your day

Each day of the week in Thailand has a colour. Children learn them alongside the day names, some people dress in the day's colour, and a present in the colour of someone's birth day shows you remembered them.

In Slipmatic, Wednesday night's colour is dark green, an evening shade of the daytime Wednesday green.

Enjoy it as a bit of everyday culture. It has no say over your week.

A small thing to try this week

• Tell one person about the odd little thing you've been reading or thinking about lately.
• Take a walk after dark somewhere safe and familiar, and notice what's different at night.
• Choose something dark green, like a notebook, a mug or a shirt, and keep it for your own quiet time.

In Slipmatic

Night Market Neon prints Thai astrology for the day you were born. Pull the cord and, once the tubes flicker on, it prints a slip for Wednesday night's people with your day's colour on it.

When you add your birth date, tell the app you were born after dusk, and the neon reads Wednesday night for you. Your birth date stays on your phone; the reading service only sees the day of the week. The machine's general reading for the day is there for everyone, and with Slipmatic Plus your own reading is printed every morning.

For entertainment and reflection.
